Hold Back Program
Heritage Christian School provides one of the most successful Reclassification (Hold back) programs in Orange County. Our program allows students to successfully repeat a grade, typically in Jr. High School, and most families choose 8th grade as their “reclassification year.” This process meets High School entry and sports eligibility requirements. Students typically "hold back" to gain physical and academic benefit as well as have an additional year to further mature before entering high school. We consider this process as giving your child "the gift of time". Our Reclassification Program greatly benefits those student-athletes that are seeking a competitive high school and possible college sports career. To allow our hold back students the opportunity to conduct their sports training, we coordinate their academic class schedule to conclude at 1:30pm. Our hold-back student-athletes coordinate their training schedule with our school team schedule, which also allows them to compete on our school sports teams.
Heritage Christian School has provided the Reclassification Program for the past 15 years, and we have seen many success stories from the multitude of past student-athletes that have gone on to have successful careers in High School, Universities and even Professionally!
