Elementary
At Heritage Christian School, we believe education should be rooted in excellence and love. Our curriculum is thoughtfully designed to support the academic, spiritual, and personal growth of every student entrusted to our care. Teachers use benchmark assessments and the IXL program in grades K–6 to identify individual learning needs and support growth at every level. In our elementary grades, we approach assessment with great care, using it to guide instruction.
In the elementary classroom, learning takes place in an environment that is fun, engaging, enriching, and encouraging. Our teachers thoughtfully plan lessons that capture students’ curiosity, build foundational skills, and allow children to experience success as they learn. Through hands-on activities, interactive lessons, and positive encouragement, students are supported academically while developing confidence, perseverance, and a genuine love for learning.
Everything we teach is grounded in a Biblical worldview. We intentionally use Christ-centered resources such as BJU Press to ensure that learning remains firmly rooted in God’s Word. Our science curriculum is enhanced through hands-on STEM activities that invite students to explore, discover, and actively engage with the standards they are learning. While our curriculum is biblically based, it is also aligned with current state standards, so that our students are well-prepared for success in their academic journey and beyond.
The curriculum at Heritage Christian school reflects our mission to provide an education founded on both excellence and love. Teachers utilize benchmark assessments and the IXL program for grades K–12 to identify student needs and support growth at every level. Assessments are not administered solely for evaluation, but rather to provide valuable data that informs instruction and allows us to meet the needs of a diverse population of learners. Central to our approach is instruction grounded in a biblical worldview, with core resources such as BJU Press and Positive Action ensuring that teaching remains rooted in God’s Word. Science instruction is further enhanced through hands-on STEM activities, allowing students to actively engage with and experience the standards they are learning. While our curriculum is biblically-based, it is also aligned with current state standards, ensuring that our students are well-equipped for success in their academic journey and beyond.
Junior High and High School Curriculum:
Heritage Christian Junior High and High School provides a Christ-centered, academically rigorous education designed to prepare students for success in college, career, and life. Grounded in biblical truth, our curriculum challenges students to think critically, communicate effectively, and apply their faith across all areas of learning. We are committed to academic excellence while nurturing spiritual growth, character development, and a lifelong love of learning.
Our Junior High program builds a strong foundation in core academic subjects while encouraging curiosity, responsibility, and independent thinking. As students progress into High School, they engage in a more advanced and college-preparatory curriculum, including Advanced Placement (AP) courses and dual-enrollment courses that offer rigorous, in-depth study and the opportunity to earn college credit. These courses help students develop strong study habits, analytical skills, and confidence as they prepare for higher education.
Through a blend of faith-based instruction, strong academics, and effective use of technology, Heritage Christian JH/HS prepares students to excel academically, grow spiritually, and make a meaningful impact in their communities and beyond.
High School Academics:
AP (Advanced Placement) classes are college-level courses offered in high school that provide students with the opportunity to challenge themselves academically. Taking AP classes can help students develop critical thinking skills, improve their time management, and gain in-depth knowledge of subjects. One of the biggest benefits is the potential to earn college credits, which can save time and money in higher education. Additionally, AP courses demonstrate academic rigor on college applications, showing admissions officers that students are ready for the demands of college-level work.
Current HS AP classes HCS offers:
AP Literature

Academic Learning Assistance (ALA) Program
At Heritage Christian School, we are committed to providing a supportive and nurturing environment where all students can thrive spiritually and academically. One way we live out this commitment is through our Academic Learning Assistance (ALA) Program. The purpose of ALA is to support students in grades K–12 who have documented physical and/or learning disabilities by developing an Individual Accommodation/Modification Plan tailored to each student’s unique needs.
These plans provide approved physical, organizational, and instructional support designed to help students experience academic success while continuing to grow in their relationship with Jesus Christ. We believe every child is created by God with purpose and potential, and it is our joy to help each student discover and develop the gifts God has placed within them.
The ALA Program is led by Genevieve Olson, who has over 23 years of experience in education. Her heart for students and passion for learning guide her work as she partners with families and teachers to support students with care, wisdom, and compassion.
